"Faith restored in nursing care at Wishaw General"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Gastroenterology

(as the patient),

I have had abdominal pain problems for many years and been in and out Wishaw General. Unfortunately some of my admissions made me feel as if I was an inconvenience and wasting my time coming to hospital. I was losing hope and would get upset about coming to hospital if I needed to. Eventually I was diagnosed with Crohns.

My last admission was months ago and I felt I needed to give the staff of ward 18 the praise due. The nursing staff in ward 18 has given me hope that they’re is still genuine caring people in hospitals. Even though the staff were very busy and under pressure they made me feel worthy and cared for. There was a nurse called Sharon who listened answered my questions and made me feel safe. She was obviously an experienced nurse and had such a lovely nature. Sharon and many of the others in the ward have restored my faith in nurses. Thank you x

Dear Kmacxx,

Many thanks for taking the time to post your experience of being an in patient within ward 18.

The staff will be delighted to read your positive comments and I will ensure that this feedback is shared with the team and especially Sharon that you have named.

I hope this finds you feeling better and on the road to recovery.

Best wishes
