"Extremely good care at ervy level from the moment..."

What I liked

Although the department was extremely busy, was seen very promptly, given an ECG within ten minutes of arrival and medication 10 minutes later to help with the pain. Thankfully the pains were nothing dramatic – and not what we feared.

At every level - from the receptionist at the desk, the nurse who triaged him and the doctor and nurses who later saw my partner - were thoroughly professional, efficient, friendly, kind and reassuring. Whilst waiting for blood test to be taken, I had time to observe that the staff were as attentive with everyone – from a little girl to an elderly patients - even though they were dealing with a department full of people in the middle of the night. I have been a hospital chaplain for the last 20 years and have had particular responsibility for A&E for chaplaincy.

I therefore have some appreciation of the demands and difficulties the staff face in that area. I was very impressed with all the staff and their department.

What could be improved

All was as should be.
