"Gastroenterology"

About: University Hospital Ayr / Gastroenterology

(as a service user),

I was very sick with crohns disease and was in and out of hospital over a three year period. It was a very stressful and painful time but the nursing staff on ward 9 were always lovely as was the nurse specialist sister Anderson if I ever needed advice when back home. I found Dr Gillen to be the most patient and understanding doctor who has treated me and was always felt reassured that I would get through this really horrible time of my life. Thankfully following surgery my life is so much better now and I'm back to only needing annual reviews. I think it's very easy to be critical of health care staff and wanted to highlight the excellent care I receive and say thank you
