"My Husband had key hole surgery & robotic surgery"

About: Broomfield Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I would just like to praise Gemma who carried out the surgery on my husband at Broomfield Hospital.  She is a credit to the NHS and we can not thank her enough for all her expert skills and caring attitude toward my husband's condition (Bowel Cancer). We would also like to say a very big thank you to all the staff on Heybridge ward (Cancer Ward) Even though my husband was very sick the staff made his stay a pleasant one joking with him and keeping him up beat, which he needed.

It is quiet often said you always here about the bad things in the NHS but never the good things. Without the NHS a lot of people would not survive cancer or any other illness come to that. So my husband and I have nothing but praise for the care that he received from Gemma and all the nurses on Heybridge ward and the after care nurses who phone him often to see how he is doing.

He is under Broomfield for next 5 years, today we had good news, my husband does not have to have chemo, which is a big weight of our shoulders and hopefully we will be able to enjoy a holiday in June. Please pass our most great full thanks and gratitude to all the team who took care of my Husband.

Hi Jonathan,

Thank you for your response, you have a wonderful team. I work in healthcare and know how important it is to receive patient feedback. I am so grateful to Gemma and her team for the care that they provided for my husband. As soon as he heard that he didn't have to have chemo it was like a big black cloud had lifted and he was back to his normal cheerful self. (But he playing on not doing the house bit while I am still working) all I keep getting is I am not well, how long can he keep that up for. LOL But seriously thank you to Broomfield Hospital!
