I attended the Day Surgery unit last week.
I was treated with great dignity and respect by all staff I encountered.
Each staff member introduced themselves, explained their role in my care and answered any questions I had.
RGNs Melissa and Caroline looked after me within the Day Surgery Ward pre/post-op.
Mr Bezem, my surgeon, fully explained my procedure and associated risks prior to gaining my consent.
Mr Mathieson, the Anaesthetist, explained his role in a very friendly manner and came back to check on my post-op symptoms. He was ably assisted by Robert, who certainly put me at my ease whilst wheeling me into theatre with his calm approach and sense of humour. I'm sorry, I cannot recall the theatre staff I was introduced to, great anaesthetic!! I do however remember their smiling faces.
Fleur in Theatre Recovery kept a close eye on me post-op.
I felt very safe in the hands of this professional team. A great job, well done to all.
