"Dismissive"

About: Bannockburn Surgery

I have been going to this surgery for over 10 years and everything has been ok because at the time my health was ok, I didn't understand why my family members disliked the practice so much till i had pneumonia, rang up informing the reception about my condition and asked for a home visit as i could not move or breathe the woman was sharp and rude and told me they cant do anything for me as home visit are only for the elderly .. when I know that should include homebound which i was. Anyway ended up in hospital 3 days later for over a week after having to call the emergency services as I WAS NOT ABLE TO BREATHE.

A year later I came in february thinking I had some kind of urine infection its now MAY and i'm still suffering with the same pain and have the doctors done anything? NO NOTHING I have given them my urine about 6 times it always comes up clear THE ONE THE SENT TO THE LAB NEVER MADE IT THERE BECAUSE THE NURSE MESSED IT UP SOMEHOW so i have begged for a ultrasound did not receive the letter for that until recently like a week ago and i'm still waiting for a appointment to go in the reception are absolutely awful and they are just terrible and dismissive .I Would also like to add that I have seen all 3 doctors about this stomach pain and the two nurses.

Dear Madam

I am very sorry to hear your feedback and would like to thank you for taking the time in expressing it.

You are correct that home visits are exclusively for the housebound and frail and elderly.

Younger people, which I believe you are referring to would be exempt from this category; this is a policy which is not specific to this surgery, there are lots of surgeries which adhere to this.

I will however take on your feedback and explore what happened so that we can try and improve our communication.

Regarding the other clinical points you have raised, may I request that you contact me at the surgery so that we can discuss in more detail and I extend this invitation to your family as well as we are a patient-centred and caring surgery who have had the honour of looking after many families and over many generations.

I am sorry that your experience has been negative.

With thanks,

Dr Sabrina Ong, GP.
