I registered in this practice when I moved to the Batley area. I have never had any problem getting an appointment for my children and that's something good, but I am not happy with the service this practice offers.
In one occasion one of the Doctors told me that my son had a viral infection and then prescribed antibiotics, it didn't make sense to me and when I asked why, she said the antibiotics would make my son feel better, then in the reception they used to have a leaflet saying " Wrong use of antibiotics can put your health at risk"...
A couple of times the same doctor told me I just had a sore throat and I ended in A & E during the weekend because of a tonsilitis that was not being treated and the second time because of a chest infection that required antibiotics, the impression I have is that one of the Doctors doesn't check properly.
I once asked for help to loose weight, I asked them if they could refer me to a dietitian and they told me they couldn't do that anymore and never checked on my blood pressure or took my bloods despite being written in my medical history that my family's got a history of diabetes and seeing with own their eyes that I am obese, told them my foot was swollen and hurting and they said that was because of my weight but they never checked my foot and never offered me any help with the weight loss.
Today I rang as I have chest pain, they refused to give me an appointment for today without asking me what my problem was.
I don't feel comfortable in general, every time I go I have the feeling that they will just ignore me and tell me there is nothing wrong with me, and then I will need to ring 111 and rush to A & E.
I know they are desensitized because of the large amount of ill people that they see everyday, but still I think they should take their time to make sure they are having a proper look, at the end of the day is their job.
I wouldn't recommend this surgery.
"There are good things but still I wouldn't..."
