"Waste of time"

About: New Cross Hospital / Accident and emergency

I rang 111 for advice on what to do about having catheter removed (had it in for 5 days was told it could come out as soon as urine clear). They told me to go to A&E and they would do it. Waited 5 hours only to be told it’s not there job. Why couldn’t I have been told at the beginning of my assessment. Complete waste of time

Thank you very much for taking the time to post comments regarding your patient experience.

I am sorry for any distress this matter has caused. To enable us to look further into your concerns about our A&E department, I would be grateful if you could contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01902 695362 who can assist further.

In relation to the 111 service, this is not one of our services, it is provided by NHS England, their details can be found on their website https://www.england.nhs.uk/urgent-emergency-care/nhs-111/

Kindest Regards

Alison Dowling
