I was unable to get a place in the surgery on the Monday morning and needed to speak to The doctor regarding an issue I had whilst running the Nottingham marathon.
I have done a few Marathons, and trained hard for the last 18 weeks, only to have to pull up on 7 miles out of 26.2, due to feeling unwell.
I ran out of energy at 7 miles, felt dizzy, my ears were popping and had a ringing noise in them.
I ended up walk/running back to the halfway stage, then retired from the race.
This was particularly strange as i had done all the right training and tappered and eaten correctly.
On the day before the race, I did a 2mile pre-race run, and felt very tired afterwards, even more so than doing a 20 mile run, but i put it down to the carbo loading, and went to the race the next day.
We concluded that it may be a virus/cold, i was advised not to run for the next week and to try a run at the weekend and see how i felt.
I thought the on call service was good but that there could be more places in the day surgery.
