"Care and consideration"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Stroke Care Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a service user),

Just what can one say about the service and care provided by the staff not only in the Clinical Assessment Unit prior to my being transferred to Ward 3E of the "Stroke Unit" whom I can't speak highly enough of, from Sister Sommerville, Staff Nurse Heather and all who work in the ward both on day shift and night shift also, their continued attention to detail, care and consideration for each individual patient, and urgency shown on arrival plus ongoing professional care and attention to speed in obtaining scans etc.

I must also highly commend the auxiliary staff, cleaners, caterers, ladies who provide papers, nail care, etc for their attention to detail at all times.

Extremely busy stroke ward.

Dear cricketje57,

Being admitted to hospital with a potential stroke is such a frightening time. It is great to hear that you received excellent care, delivered in a professional manner.

It is lovely to hear that everyone in the team worked together to ensure that your experience was positive. Every person in the team plays such a valuable role in your care and recovery. Care and compassion is as important as the technical aspects.

We are fortunate within the stroke unit to have a number of volunteers who support us in enhancing care. I know Susan one of our volunteers who provides 'manicures' for patients will be delighted to read your feedback.

Thanks for taking the time to post on care opinion. I will ensure this is shared with the team who will be delighted as I am to read your lovely comments.

I hope you are now on the road to recovery.

Best wishes,

Christine

Dear Cricketje57,

Thank you for sharing your story on CareOpinion. It sounds like you have had a very worrying time. It cannot be easy being told you are being admitted to a stroke unit.

I am glad to read that you were treated well by all involved and I hope you are recovering well.

Kind Regards

Alan
