About: Barlborough NHS Treatment Centre

I had been suffering with sciatica for over a year and was becoming increasingly concerned about the number of pain relief tablets I was taking. I was being told it would eventually go in time. I had difficulty walking and had to give up golf.

Luckily one of the lady golfers at our club told my wife her husband had his hip replaced at Barlborough. I visited the hospital then spoke to my GP and was referred as a patient. After an initial consultation I was given an MRI and the results showed my main problem was bone compressing a nerve. An appointment was made for surgery and I arrived on the morning of the 10th of May. All these appointments were made in a short time period. All the premedical checks were done on the day of the diagnosis which saves a lot of time.

I would like to thank everyone involved for a well organised operation that makes all patients feel valued. My surgery was successful and I now face the future with confidence rather than the despair I felt previously. At all times I was treated with care and dignity so I actually found it a positive experience .

Thanks again to everyone involved from housekeeping catering and clinical. I would recommend any patient looking for treatments available at Barlborough to ask their GP for a referral.

I will be going for my first physiotherapy appointment later today and already have a spring in my step
