"Thank you"

About: The Saltscar Surgery

I would like to say a big 'thank you' to the nurse practitioner and her colleagues.

I had a cyst on my eyebrow that, although wasn't a health threat, was growing and I was very self conscious as people were starting to notice it and it was becoming quite distressing to me.

The nurse practitioner initially referred me to dermatology. After seeing a dermatologist and finding out it was nothing sinister, I was referred to plastic surgery to get this removed.

Unfortunately, this type of surgery is not under contract to the acute hospital, therefore my referral was 'rejected'.

The nurse practitioner kept me fully informed of everything that was going on and what they were doing - appealing to the CCG and referring to 'see and treat' at Redcar Hospital - where I had minor surgery(without too much of a wait) and the cyst removed.

I just wanted to express my gratitude for being taken seriously (although not a medically serious complaint, this was very distressing to me), for keeping me informed and making me feel supported through this process.

We are a society that is very quick to complain, and although there are major problems with the health service across the country, the majority of us get a very good service on a very limited resource due to the dedicated nhs staff.
