"Wonderful care on Folkestone ward following..."

About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford)

What I liked

I recently had an elective c-section at WHH. I cannot fault the level of care/service afforded by the theatre and ward staff. Having previously been an inpatient on Kennington ward a couple of years ago (where I experienced poor nursing care after a major operation), I was very anxious about going back to WHH. However, I am delighted to say this stay was completely different. All the midwives/midwifery assistants worked extremely hard (as did all the other staff on the ward) and I was made to feel that nothing was too much trouble - especially important after a section, when you physically are unable to get out of bed for the first 24 hrs to care for your baby. The midwives and midwifery assistants were constantly checking my wound, my pad, my baby, me to ensure everything was OK. The night staff offered us warm drinks even! It was almost like being on holiday to be honest. I left hospital feeling really well and confident to embark on motherhood. Thank you to all the staff on Folkestone ward (not forgetting the theatre staff, who did a wonderful job a putting me at ease pre and during the op). The section was such a positive experience in the end and I urge anyone feeling anxious about sections/having a baby at WHH, to not worry. Instead enjoy your pregnancy and know you'll have expert care whilst in hospital.
