Following a harrowing 4-5 months of pain and concern over an enlarged lymph node I underwent surgery in the day care unit for it to be removed and proven non cancerous (as had been the fear). Under the care of the doctor throughout and latterly also his theatre staff, I was not at all; concerned about the procedure. The scar is barely visible as promised! The doctor was kind, friendly, open and put me at ease from first appointment with him onwards so I had (and retain) the utmost confidence and immense respect for him. Unfortunately I was too busy planning my 'escape' to converse with the theatre nurse who came to introduce herself after the surgery which I latterly regret as she was very kind to have taken the time to seek me out, I felt I was rather brusque and would love the opportunity to apologise and take the time to speak to her as I ought have done properly back then. the whole experience was regrettably marred hugely by the extremely rude and out of order comments made by the receptionist when presenting myself at the reception desk on checking in. From her comments it seems she didn't want to be there so I would suggest maybe she should seek alternative employment as working in a similar job I would not have dreamt of speaking to patients as she did to me. That aside and the fact I hate being fussed over (which the overly kind HCA and nurse in the unit were doing albeit with all good intentions), the overall experience of the procedure was excellent. From the radiologists who explained the initial scans to me, consultant and theatre staff, all have left me deeply indebted for their promptenss, attention, care and concern. Second to none. I feel blessed to have been in their care
"Excellent consultant & theatre staff"
