"My husband stay in Dickens Ward"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital / General surgery

(as a relative),

My husband received excellent care from the staff in Lister ward and Dickens ward.

When he was admitted he was very sick. The care he received:  a CT and IV fluid and antibiotics.

I saw a big difference in his health. Which was a massive relief.

It is a noisy ward and very extremely busy ward but all the staff are amazing. The ward Sister called me and informed me that my husband would be transferred to another ward for the next part of his patient journey.

He is not out of the woods yet, but he is pointing the right direction.

Update posted by RM58 (a relative)

My husband has now been discharge from keats ward. All the staff are lovely especially Moses was a ward clerk in Gstt. I found some of the practices on the ward disturbing. The fact that only one nurses gave out and checked the drugs. We always had two nurses checking. I was unable to work out who were the nurses and who was the auxiliary. I do appreciate that the ward are short staff.. The doctor forgot to inform the ward and write in his notes that my husband was being discharged so the process was very frustrating. It took 5 hours. I also returned the next day for his medicine to take home. But at least he is now home and I do thank all the medway staff who cared for him.
