"harrogate mh"

About: Tees, Esk And Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust

(as a service user),

I was under the care of harrogate mental health, having been sectioned twice for attempted suicide along with concern from a sexual health clinic..The consultant felt I  was enough of a risk to get a court order on me and diagnosed me borderline personality disorder.  Then it seemed like I was kicked me out of the service back to the gp.  They put me on a mood stabiliser and a antipsychotic. i have never been that good since spending most of my time in the house. i saw the gp some time after to tell him the antipsychotic was giving me restless leg syndrome and could i change type,i didnt want to come off it i felt it helped but they said just stop it.

I recently told them that the mood stabiliser isnt working as well but they said u seem ok ,u see them for 10 mins and they make that diagnosis.  Basically there is no mh care just a gp who doesnt want to get involved.i found the consultant when i saw them to be vindictive .   They were forced to see me after I had been refused when my sexual health doctor rang them.  I understand from staff at sexual health that  they have hell with referring patients, most seem like me to get discharged, they dont want to know them it seems.

I have a problem that i can throw the teddy out the cot and cancel an appointment, this was explained to them by the referring consultant and to bear with me but the first time that happened the reply was u cancelled u have discharged yourself. the only way i got back in was the dr  ringing them yet again and complaining that they  had made them fully aware its a problem, but I always re engage.

The consultants attitude now it seems is because we got a court order we will leave u to the police to deal with.  They told me face to face they would never have me back on the ward and would make sure i went else where.  I have found this person vindictive and homophobic. Now i reject any diagnosis from them feeling from what I know that the diagnosis is  to get rid of me and other.  I feel its a bad place with not good staff.

Talking it with a friend it felt like they  put u on psych meds but then dont see u how are they supposed to know how ur doing.  Theres nothing set up with the gp even to see me even every 6 months.  Now the meds have gone in the bin and ive learnt my lesson never to go near them again.
