What I liked
The nurses were great could keep you up to date more on whats going on nut in genaral prity good.
What could be improved
The area in the surgical assesment unit with chairs when no beds are available.
Anything else?
Doctor refered me here after coming and seing me at home in the morning, regarding a huge abscess on my bottom. I could hardly walk let alone sit down i was in that much pain.
I was informed that there were no beds but there was some chairs to wait in, as i didnt know how long i would be there anything seemed better than been at home in pain.
Got to the ward 1.30pm on Monday was seen by doctor around 6pm and told at 8pm to come back the next day at 8am as they couldnt fit me in.
Went back following day ( the abscess had burst during night at home) sat from 8am till 7pm at which time i was ready to go down to theater to be told it had been canceled and to go home and come back the next day, and not to eat or drink anything again.
Finally on the wednesday i had my op by which time i had got an infection and was listed as an emergancy, if i hadnt i would most probably still be sat waiting.
Brand new huge hospital yet its 100 + beds less than the old one. This is in the summer i dread to think what the winter will be like.
"Brand new hospital thats more interested in more..."
