"Very hard to get through to appointments first..."

About: The Grange Medical Centre

They have appointment line open at 9am and most of the times you are on the phone at least 10-15 minutes to get through to the receptionists who then tells either there is no appointment left or one available after 5pm or so. When it is a regular check ups for adults it could be ok however when a child is in an emergency situation it is unacceptable and which is what we have experienced as parents. Then the child is taken to walk in centre with severe earache where he gets seen by a nurse. We get suggested that the earache is an infection however an antibiotic isn't required and keep the child in calpol which is what he was on already. Returned home with crying child.

Thank you for your comment and I'm sorry to hear about the problems you have experienced.

We are aware that it can sometimes take some time to get through to make an appointment soon after 9am and we are in the process of looking at purchasing a new telephone system to make it easier.
