"treatment for infected cyst on back"

About: Oakwood Lane Medical Practice

Initially I was given antibiotics by the doctor but no dressings which were needed once the antibiotics began to work. I returned at the end of the course, the antibiotics were having some effect but after monitoring progress for two or three days I was referred to St James Hospital for surgery and within 2 days the abscess was drained.

Follow up took place at the Medical Practice and the original nurse changed the dressing, kept me informed about the wound, took a photo for me, showed my wife how to clean and dress the wound when at home and provided us with all the dressings etc we needed. The nurses who dealt with me were professional and friendly. The nurse who dealt with me until my discharge was exceptional! She was totally professional but at the same time friendly, warm and caring and treated me as a person not a patient. A real asset to your organisation!

The recovery process through March and April at the Medical Practice was a positive experience for me.
