"New Phlebotomy services"

About: Lymington New Forest Hospital

It seems you have a whole new set of staff in the walk in blood tests department since last I attended.

I do not think they are as efficient or caring as before. They were not at all focused upon the individual.

I was hurt a great deal, I have a lot of bruising. I am not difficult to extract blood from.

The Phlebotomist put on a tiny wad of cotton wool and tape afterwards, no questions were asked of me, for instance am I allergic to plasters? or advice on not lifting anything heavy for a period of time. The cotton wool left fibres stuck into blood on the extraction site.

For all the time the phlebotomist was taking my blood she was having a conversation with a member of staff across the room who had just returned from a break.

It was not a good experience at all.
