What could be improved

I had a midwife appointment with a midwife (PAM) from Watford in Harpenden's village surgery at week 17. It took her over 10 minutes to find my baby's heartbeat - longest 10 minutes of my pregnancy. and she gave me back the urine container which I had used that day (with urine still in it) and told me to recycle it. I've always had better treatment at all my other midwife appointments and wondered if this is normal?
