"Horrible doctor and appointment service"

About: Shakespeare Health Centre

The doctors cannot wait to just kick you out of the room. Doesn’t want to elaborate on the treatment or the issue. The doctor on Wednesday keeps on saying bye millions of time interrupting me and literally kicking me out when I am still talking and explaining my situation. By the way I was the only patient there at that time. Also, the doctors are not sympathetic at all. So to was late to an appointment the other day and I called and informed them. The receptionist said to still come. I came and he doctor won't see me. I said I’ll wait can you please request her I took an early day off from work. The doctor just ignored the message completely. To cut the story short, she refused to see me even though she didn’t have any patient and it was 5:50 pm and their closing time is 6:30 pm. So I went and asked the receptionist that you are not still closed yet, then why can’t I see the doctor. She said the doctors doesn’t see patient after 6. I said then that’s misinformation on your website. We talked back and forth and the doctor agreed to see me at 6. First thing she told me was hurry up you have 10 min I don’t know what I can Check in 10 min. I was shocked. You expect doctors to be different , a bit more sympathetic towards patient. I just rushed and told her the main thing I was in fonand as usual with out much check up, she gave me anti biotic. Also their appointment system is so weird. You can only make appointment one week in advance for the same day. For example, you have to call on Wednesday to get an appointment for the following Wednesday, no other day of the week. And God forbid you call after 10, it’s highly unlikely you will get an appointment for the upcoming Wednesday. You have to call again next day hoping hat others didn’t already make appointments.

Another incident, I know that I have cyst in my breast from previous ultrasound in the USA, and was worried because my mother had breast cancer. I went to the doctor. She refused to send me for an untra sound. She was in denial that I cannot have breast cancer. I was just dumbfounded at the level of ignorance. And as usual she couldn’t wait to just chuck me out as soon as she just checked me without a proper explanation.

Please don’t go to this gp. I don’t know about all the doctors but I have come across two doctors in his gp and they are both horrible interns of service and client patient relationship. I will be soon switching GP, just don’t have the time at the moment to look and re register.

Dear Sir/Madam,

We are sorry that your experience was not as expected.

Our clinicians try their level best to treat patients in given time slots and accommodate patients with complex medical needs. We do agree with you that the practice opening time is from 08:30 to 18:30 however in addition to seeing patients, our clinicians are to complete clinical admin on daily basis such as processing urgent prescriptions and referrals in their given clinical admin time. You will kindly appreciate that despite being late for your appointment; the doctor still agreed to see you and treated you for your condition. We are sorry that the duty doctor completing the clinical admin for other patients had to keep to the time because of practice closing time at 18:30.

We run our appointment sessions for both urgent and routine medical needs. Patient with acute/urgent medical needs are booked on the same day while the routine appointments are booked 7 days in advance. I do understand that sometimes our patients have to call the next day for a routine appointment within 1 week however In order to avoid ‘no shows’ we had to reduce our advance booking time from 2 weeks to 1 week and by doing this we had reduced ‘no show’ rate by 25-30%. Now we have very few patients forgetting their appointments and in majority of cases they call us in advance if they are unable to attend their appointment. This gives us an opportunity to use cancelled appointments for other needy patients.

We would not be able to comment about your medical history or issues with your screening. However please feel free to arrange a meeting with our Practice Manager and should you wish us to investigate this further, we will be more than happy to help you.

Regards

Shakespeare health Centre
