I attended the Heart Failure Clinic on 5 April 2018 (referred by AAU)
I was given an Echo cardiogram etc.
After a long wait I saw a doctor.
He was helpful and informative. He said I was being discharged as I had not suffered heart failure, but that I had atrial fibrillation and would require ongoing treatment. He was referring me back to my GP, and would let me have a full report.
After a month, my GP had received nothing, but an appointment had been made for fitting a 24 hour blood pressure monitor. (Not by the GP)
The GP practice manager managed to contact the relevant secretary, who said the report on my 5 April examination had not yet been approved
Frequent attempts to phone the department have been to no avail. No response is given to messages left, and there is never anyone to answer the phone.
I realize that staff are very busy, but clearly the department makes no effort to keep patients informed about what is going on.
