"Self check-in"

About: Ipswich Hospital / Ophthalmology

(as a relative),

I bring my father to the Garrett Anderson eye clinic on a regular basis and we are very happy with the care he receives. The issue I have is with the self check in which involves ringing an extension number to announce the patients arrival.

The keys on the phone are very small and difficult to read. When I was in the waiting room this morning 5 patients arrived and none of them were able to check in without assistance.

Surely in the eye clinic it would be a good idea to have a phone with large, clear keys!

Thank you for taking the time to bring this to our attention and I am sorry that is caused you and other patients to have to seek assistance when checking in. I will pass your comments and suggestion to the team and see if we can change the telephone for something more suitable. Many thanks
