Refered by the GP out of hours service to the Surgical Assessment Unit. All of the Staff I was treated by showed genuine care and compassion. I did not have long to wait either.
Attended for Surgery via the SEAL Unit. The Receptionist was very polite, however the HCA that dealt with my preparation for surgery was not really interested and was not clear on instructions on what I should do too.
This carried on into the waiting lounge, where the HCA was uninterested and I just felt a hindrance. It's a shame, as I know that they would have started their careers all fired up and enthusiastic to go. Perhaps local issues and/or working conditions generally in the NHS have driven their moods into the doldrums?
Other than that, all of the Operating Theatre staff were excellent and afterwards in the day case ward where the nurse that looked after me post op was excellent too. It was professional and I felt completely safe throughout my visit to this Hospital. Unlike a recent stay in the nearby private sector Spire Hospital.
I wish all of the Staff well.
