Sadly, a friend has a similar story. She has just had her op cancelled day before - for second time - so all her friends are trying to help her fund-raise so she can go privately.
Another friend had a similar experience, got so fed up with pain and constant delays that she literally sold off the family silver. This had been in family for centuries, and was very treasured, but it was all she had.
Surely the NHS shouldn't be forcing vulnerable people to live this way?
