"Appointment waiting time"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / General Medicine (Wards 9-12)

(as the patient),

I was referred to endocrinology and had blood tests done. I have since received a letter advising me that my blood results are not normal and will be retested at my appointment at the clinic. I phoned the patient referral service who advised me that I will need to wait 30 weeks to see a consultant to discuss my results. However, if I get my GP to send a letter to the endocrinologist, they might see me sooner!

What’s the point in doing tests then waiting 30 weeks for the results? I am also waiting to go for IVF (private not NHS) so I can’t wait that long for my results. I feel absolutely disgusted!
