"outpatients paediatric northwick park reception"

About: Northwick Park Hospital

i visited with my daughter the paediatric clinic in January, i got several referrals included e ENT one.

Seems like my daughter conditions weren't so bad, and now in May i am still waiting for my appointment. As all the doctors i saw told me she seems fine and she breathes normally.

Because i worried so much i decided to go to a private doctor, he told me my daughter needs operation and because of her condition she starting to develop otitis as well.

Today in my struggle to get an appointment, i phoned ENT department they advise me to see a paediatric as soon as possible to modify my referral as urgent.

I phoned the outpatients paediatric, and the receptionist was more worried on who gave me their phone number then why i want to see a paediatric.

My daughter is struggling to breathe during the night, she can't breathe to her nose and she even had an attack where she wasn't able to breath for 1 minute.

The extra minute that would take to listen dear receptionist, maybe is not so important for you as is for my daughter life and development.

I am sorry to hear that you have had a long wait and different opinions: that can be very confusing.

I am also sorry that the receptionist did not listen to your concerns. However, a receptionist would not be able to change the priority of your appointment. I think the best thing to do would be to go back to your GP and request an urgent referral. If you are worried over the weekend, you could call 111 or go to an Urgent Care Centre. Or contact our PALS team on Monday on 0208 869 5118 or LNWH-tr.PALS@nhs.net but I am reasonably sure that they will say that the GP needs to change the referral.

Best wishes

Sue
