I was asked to go in for extra blood tests, I've been in Southport hospital many times and this is by far the best department, the staff were all lovely and did their best to keep everyone updated as to what was going on with their tests, the department was extremely busy and they were non stop looking after patients, people are all too quick to criticize the NHS but this department was excellent and I felt as if they were really taking an interest in the patients.
The Dr I saw went to great lengths to explain what was causing the problems I was having (gall stones) and went into great detail with me what was happening and the best course of action to take, given my medical history I didn't feel rushed and had plenty of opportunity to ask questions, I've now been referred to a surgeon and I'm waiting for my initial appointment.
