"The excellent experience I had at Pilgrim Hospital"

My story starts with the two Paramedics that came to my emergency aid within 10 minutes. I was having a lot of symptoms of a stroke, I was very distressed but Lukas and David were so reassuring and helped me to stay calm, their caring approach was really appreciated. When I arrived at A& E, I was dealt with quickly, the department was full but I was made to feel like nothing was too much trouble. All of the staff worked like a well oiled machine, everything was explained to me in words that I understood. Mr Thomas came in to examine me, he explained what tests he wanted me to have and due to my circumstances I was to be admitted, to ensure that the tests would be done quickly. I was so pleased about this because my symptoms have affected me for a long time and are becoming more frequent. Another Doctor came to see me too, again excellent. During my wait to be admitted I was given drinks, breakfast and regularly checked. On the AEC, all of the staff were excellent, caring, friendly and helpful. My nurse was Shannon, she kept me informed of when the Doctors and Specialists were on their way. I was also was offered drinks and lunch. Three Doctors came to see me, one of them Dr Constantine was so reassuring and advised me of what she will be doing for me within the month. I'm just sorry that I cannot remember all of the staff name because they all deserve praise for the excellent work they do. Our NHS has amazing staff at every level and it is about time that they are recognised for their commitment.
