"The wait goes on..."

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital / Gynaecology

I had a scan & a biopsy taken following post menopausal bleeding - the latter was very painful & after a 3 week wait, the biopsy showed as an insufficient sample, so I still do not know if I have any cancer. I signed a consent form for a hysterectomy in November 2017 and 6 months later, am still waiting for my surgery. Despite phone calls & GP visits explaining my anxiety, heavy bleeding, abdominal pain & bladder pressure (from multiple large fibroids), I am still no closer to knowing when I will be admitted. I feel that my life is on hold.

I am sorry that you are experiencing some frustrations in your wait for surgery. Please contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service at 0800 917 6039 or by email at PHT.PALS@porthosp.nhs.uk and let them know what has happened so they can look into things further for you.

With best wishes
