"My diagnosis"

About: Broomfield Hospital / Dermatology The Elizabeth Courtauld Surgery

(as the patient),

I had been irritated by a dry patch of skin on my head for quite some time.   I had been to my GP surgery twice about it.   I developed another dry patch on my leg two years or so later and again went to my GP who immediately referred me to the Dermatology Unit at Broomfield and I again mentioned the patch on my head which was still there, asking if it was something similar - my GP just said no without even looking.   I subsequently had an appointment with Dr Goldberg who checked my leg which appeared fine and in passing I mentioned my head.   Dr Goldberg had no hesitation in checking it and I am so thankful to her as a biopsy showed that it was in fact a cancer that had been there a while.   I am pleased that I now have a diagnosis and I can now get treatment. A huge thanks for taking the time to investigate something I wasn’t originally referred for and for actually caring.
