I work in the NHS too, and things are pretty bad for all of us resource-wise.
All of the doctors have been thoughtful, supportive and effective-you guys are doing a great job. More recently one of the GPs has gone above and beyond in a very warm and non-shaming way to help me to talk about and manage some difficult stuff I'm dealing with. I've really valued being listened to and believed-it is so hard to ask for help and I have been coping with these problems for many years by myself because I didn't want to waste precious NHS time and just felt stupid and as though my health problems were my fault. Having a GP take the time to listen to the whole picture-lots of little clusters of symptoms, and think through with me what is happening, and follow up with blood tests, phone calls, onward referrals etc, has been absolutely fantastic, I've felt so grateful, and validated.
In summary-skilled, thoughtful, compassionate and effective GPs doing excellent work under enormous pressure. I have also experienced the reception staff to be kind, warm and effective, and helpful where they can be about appointments etc.
"Excellent and compassionate care"
