It started with an Xray because my wife had a chronic cough and then a wait of 4 weeks for the results which showed two shadows on her right lung.
She was then fast tracked by the GP. She had an appointment with a Consultant at the City Hospital within two days.
She was then made an appointment for a CT scan on her lungs and head also because of suspected blocked sinuses. She had the CT scan two days later. So fast track was brilliant so far.
The consultant said that he would write to us with the result. We waited almost three weeks and then decided to visit the GP. We were amazed when he hadn't heard anything. He said that he would chase it up.
He came back to us on the same day. He had got the results which were fairly positive.
Why did the results take so long causing us prolonged concern for both the Xray and CT scan at the Queens?
