"Fabulous IUD insertion experience"

I had an appointment to get my first copper IUD inserted, which I was very nervous for, but my experience was so fantastic; I felt so relaxed and comfortable because of the quality of care I received. I waited for 20-25 minutes before I saw the doctor, which was fine by me as they had relaxing music playing and I was just on my phone and taking my height, weight, etc. whilst I was waiting. The doctor was extremely nice and helpful and had impeccable bedside manner. She explained very clearly my options and what we would be doing today while making sure I was informed and had the choice of which type of IUC I would get. I felt respected and cared about by both her and her assistant nurse who was in the room for support and did a great job of keeping me distracted and holding my hand. The procedure itself was only a bit uncomfortable, and I was made to feel like I could really take the time I needed to lay down and relax afterwards if I was in pain. I was also offered full STI screening which was very convenient, and the nurse did an amazing job of painlessly and quickly taking my blood sample. All in all, I could not recommend the Margaret Pyke Centre at Mortimer Market enough, and I will definitely be coming back for any sexual health needs in the future.
