"Wonderful care. Be proud."

About: Royal Bournemouth General Hospital / Cardiology

(as a service user),

My mother was admitted to Bournemouth Hospital with chest pain and feeling faint.

The staff were amazing and the care she received was wonderful.   Mum ended up having a pacemaker fitted and was discharged 2 days later.   My mother is aged 87 and was treated as a person not patronized as an old lady throughout the whole process.

Everything was explained clearly to ensure she understood exactly what was happening.   We would like to give our sincere thanks to the staff at Bournemouth Hospital especially the doctors and nurses in the cardiac ward and ward 23 and 24.

Wonderful care.   Be proud

Dear JDaughter

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of our Emergency Department and sorry to hear your mother was taken poorly.

We are pleased to hear your mother was treated so well by the staff in the Emergency Department and during treatment and recovery on the wards.

Thank you for mentioning the quality of care and dignity experienced while in the department, from the Dr's and nurses looking after your mum and for the information they shared to keep you all informed. We will certainly pass your kind comments on to the Matron to share with the rest of her team.

We hope your mum is soon up on her feet and back to her normal self.

Regards

Patient Engagement Team
