Have a fibula break, had back slab cast for two weeks, resin cast for four weeks. Told to walk on it week before resin cast removed, not really painful, appears stable, hard to walk in cast, feet/leg squashed.
Given walking cast with Velcro straps on in plaster suite. No instructions given on when/how long to wear it. Can I wash it? Do I have to walk everywhere with it? Using wheelchair because worried may make fracture worse?
Its not healed up yet so am I making it worse walking on it?
No advice given anywhere about it, cannot find anything online either. Consultant always ask if I work, no I'm 60 and a carer for my son, so does that mean I don't get urgent appropriate treatment because i'm a drain on society. Could always lout son in home instead cos I cant walk properly and it will cost more to look after him than treat my leg properly
"given walking boot but no guidance or..."
