We were unlucky enough to have experienced an early miscarriage at 6/7 weeks last month with our first baby, but lucky to have been cared for by the wonderful team in Rubislaw Ward ward.
From the first phone call, all the midwives and medical staff were so kind and supportive. Nothing was too much to ask.
Whilst In for checks, despite an extremely busy ward, we were made to feel completely at ease. Or as much as you can in these circumstances.
We would love to pass on special thanks to midwives Sophie, Elisha and the senior charge midwife Myra. All were so kind, caring and just generally amazing!
Lastly a huge thank you to the midwife sonographer Lauren. She was simply brilliant. Having done a couple of scans for us it was so lovely to see a familiar face and although she had the awful job of confirming the miscarriage, I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else. She was supportive and knew all the right things to say.
It takes a special kind of person to be a midwife, even more so to work in an area such as Rubislaw. We will be forever grateful to the wonderful team!
