I needed a repeat doctors sick note as the previous one issued was due to expire.
on speaking to the reception staff i was given a list of reasons why this could take up to 10 working days to receive. I had explained that my benefits would be affected and that i was anxious about this. All that could be offered was that the doctors would "hopefully" or "maybe" see the request and process.
After checking back with the surgery reception several times it was clear that the note had not been processed. i was then informed that the doctor had now left on holiday and that it had still not been completed and that he had not taken any action to forward or cover this request with any of his colleagues.
The receptionist did not offer any explanation for this and there was certainly no apology or even a hint of recognition that their handling of my request was shocking at best.
i was finally asked to phone before attending the surgery as again no confirmation of when the note would be available.
The service provided by this surgery is very poor
