About: Princess Royal University Hospital (Orpington)

(as the patient),

I attended the Planed Investigation Unit for an endoscopy.

I arrived for my appointment, having arranged to be collected as I knew I wanted to be sedated. Due to the snow in the area, my friend was unable to collect me, so I said I would try without sedation.  This was unsuccessful as I was totally traumatised by the experience and the doctor couldn't continue.

I was embarrassed and felt so awful to have wasted their time.

The care I got in this department , from every single staff member-  doctors, nurses and porter was absolutely amazing, they were so kind, caring and compassionate and I will never be able to thank them enough

Goodness, how brave of you to try to do without sedation and quite understandable that things didn't work out for you.

Really pleasing to hear how staff supported you in the unit from the nurses to the porter.
