"Not impressed with the fracture clinic"

About: Sevenoaks Hospital

What I liked

The staff in the minories injury unit were very professional, helpful and friendly when my husband needed treatment. This service is excellent.

What could be improved

However, a follow-up visit to the fracture clinic was very dissapointing. The doctor/ consultant that my husband went to see told him that his broken finger was healing well while holding up the old x-ray that was taken two weeks ago when he first came in to the minor injuries unit - with his broken finger.

This consultant, had not even bothered to take another x-ray to see how well the finger was doing. At the same time, he told my husband to keep the bandage off as he did not need it anymore.

Funny that - when on earth has a broken finger healed in two weeks....?

We are pleased to hear that you found the staff in our Minor Injuries Unit to be helpful and professional. I am sorry your experience at the fracture clinic was poor. The fracture clinic at Sevenaoks is run by South London Hospitals Trust. You may want to contact their Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) to tell them about your experience. They don't have a general PALS contact number so we suggest you ring or email the Princess Royal PALS on Tel: 01689 863252.
