What I liked
I had high blood pressure at 32 weeks so was admitted to hospital for them to keep an eye on me. I was not told any problems or concerns that they had about my condition and was not told any thing about pre-eclampsia. On the day i felt sick and all the nurse did was take my blood pressure and tempreture and walk off! Then the following day i was monitored on the babys heart beat, which they said there was a problem and would have to keep a closer eye on me. I was left from 9.30am and when i asked to be re-monitored at 2.00 they snapped and told me they were to busy and i would have to wait, I was not seen till 7.pm. So they made me worry all day about my baby and didnt seem to care. Since this visit to the hospital i have unfortunatliy had to return due to having swallen feet and also blurred vision, but again they didnt seem to care, and even asked why i had gone to the hospital when nothing was wrong! I am due any day now and i am terrified of going back in cause of how i have been treated.
What could be improved
Staff need to communicate between there shifts. Need to leave a follow up on what patients needs, we shouldnt have to keep explaining our selves. Also patients should be checked on more often, it shouldnt only be when you press the busser! As any thing could have happened and no one would know. Need to be more informative to there patients let us know what our problem is/could be. Not just talk among there selves/behind your back. Let us know what plans are and what is going on.
I am due any day now, and if the service i receive when in labour is just as bad, expect a complaint letter.
