"3 month baby was traumatised by inprofesional..."

About: Queen's Hospital / Accident & emergency

Went to see the doctor at 1 am with a small 3 month baby... the ambulance dropped us off, yes its fine, finally some assistance saw us, done a questionaire and said will give some fluid to drink every 10 mins... its not a problem. She gave us bed, syringe for the "fluid" and i was expecting, as nurse said, special fluid to take. What she gave us was water!!!!! My baby is breastfed not water fed!!!! After waiting for 3 hours to be seenby doctor the baby was getting stressed and the temp got high(that was the reason to go to hospital) we could not give her any meds only "special fluid"..(water)

Anyway, waiting for 3 hours the Doctor came to see us and tried to do some test( blood and urine).. its not a problem i understand... but trying to find vein in 3 mnth babys hand was impossible and he tried twice to get the catheter in!!! Come on....they are impossible to be seen! the baby was screaming the blood was everywhere so after several unsucsessfu attempts, he decided to take blood from the heel and was dripping it drop by drop to the container.seriouslyy??? He had no clue how to do it, could not put plaster on the bleeding heel, blood was everywhere! The baby was so stressed, screaming.. was emotionally hard to watch her.. another 2 hours waiting for blood tests results was the last straw. The doctor said he will chase them as it was 6 am in the morning and he was no where in a rush....

In the end we have been there for 5 hours toget the answer I already knew whats wrong... keep giving her paracetamol..that was the answer!!!!! what a waste of time and massive trauma for our baby....So shocking what kind of profesionalism and ceaniness going on... never ever going back there again...
