"Could not have asked for better care"

About: John Radcliffe Hospital / Plastic surgery

I was admitted to the Specialist Surgery Inpatient Ward, via the HAPI clinic just under 2 weeks ago. From the moment I was handed over to the wonderful staff in the clinic I felt safe and cared for.

My time in the HAPI clinic was nowhere near as long as I thought it might be, given how busy they were.

The staff were caring, professional, reassuring and kind.

They dealt with my admission and associated tests and needs so efficiently.

I then had almost a week on SSIP.

I cannot fault them in any way.

Every single member of staff, medical and support, was fantastic.

I was never left in pain, or feeling sick and had plenty of information at every stage of my journey, I was listened to and cared for every step of the way.

Nothing was too much trouble for the nurses as HCAs who obviously enjoy their jobs and working on the ward.

I had to have surgery at the weekend.

I was given lots of information and support.

I was visited multiple times by my care team.

The experience of anaesthetic, surgery and recovery was by far the best of any of my multiple surgeries (including several done in the private sector).

The food was mainly good, certainly a huge improvement on my previous inpatient stay almost 7 years ago.

There was always access to food and drink, even outside meal times.

My discharge was seamless and efficient, which is not something I'd experienced in hospital previously.

Thank you staff of HAPI clinic and SSIP.

You were all superstars, and made a scary time and my subsequent recovery so much easier to bear.

Watching they way you all dealt with some very difficult patients towards the end of my stay made me so proud of our NHS and showed how incredibly well you all work, sometimes under unbelievable pressure.

All the time, preserving the dignity of each patient.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your kind feedback, and I am sorry for the delay in responding to you. Please be assured that I have share with this the staff in the HAPI clinic and on SSIP.
