What I liked

Visited ECG dept in June for an exercise ECG test. Staff were very considerate and helpful even though I was late for my appt, and tried to make me as comfortable as possible preparing for and during the test - they also read my file (which doesn't always happen in my experience!), asked about history and made sure I was ok to go ahead with the test as I was obviously breathless from the journey in.

The staff were also very attentive afterwards when I felt first breathless then dizzy - one cardiac technician (I think that was his job, there was a nurse and doctor there as well) did a great job of looking after me, making sure I didn't go home when still unwell, sitting with me and then checking on me periodically when he was called away, then calling a doctor in when I was still feeling unwell and staying around as long as he could to make sure I was ok and to let the doctor who'd been called know what had happened during and after the test. He was so professional and really went beyond the call of duty looking after me. The registrar who was called was also very helpful and friendly, explaining things to me and suggesting blood tests which I hadn't had yet, and telling me if needed they would find me a bed (luckily it wasn't).

I couldn't have asked for better care - thank you so much to all the team who did the test, and especially to the cardiac technician (if that's the right job title).

What could be improved

The doctor who was there during the test was generally very good and looked after me afterwards as well when I felt dizzy (provided biscuits!) but also had a very firm grip when taking blood pressure - only a very minor thing which I didn't mention at the time but easing off a little would make things more comfortable!

Otherwise nothing, the ECG dept is great though waiting times not so good (found that on other tests).
