I recently attended for my monthly depot medication. And was disappointed once more with the overall service I received. There are a number of points I wish to raise:
1. The general layout of the waiting area is totally wrong...with no focal point I.e a tv for instance. Leaving us all looking at each other...which does raise questions re challenging behaviour and eye contact being awkward on times. Therefore I do actually provide my own listening headphones to relax me. As this can be quite problematic when forced to endure what seems like a long time to wait. However I have no option than to attend depot clinic for my medication.
2. Once more a member of staff was rude to me! I feel it's important to speak out in matters of abuse, in order to bring about change.
3. I am a hard working individual and feel it is unneccessary to endure unpleasantness. Whilst there are signs amply indicating how abuse will not be tolerated towards staff. In my job I treat people with respect and dignity. It's just a shame I have to receive emotional abuse from trusted staff as a mental health outpatient.
4. After much consideration...i have also reported this matter to my local MP, and have further discussed the matter with mental health support line service.
Just to reiterate I do believe in challenging ideas within mental health. And I currently work (paid work); and study as well as being a mental health outpatient.
Kind regards
