"Son admitted after anaphylactic shock"

About: Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital

My son had an anaphylactic shock unexpectedly so I took him to Hexham Emergency Department. After fantastic rapid treatment there he was later transferred to NSECH children's department. I felt the staff were very thorough with his care plan and listened to everything we had to say about what happened.

I never at any point felt worried about my son's life and this was due to the care given at both hospitals. We had an overnight stay which was comfortable and he was later discharged the following day.

Thank you for all the care given to my son

Dear Angela,

You’re most welcome – it’s what we are here to do. What a frightening experience this must have been for you all?

I do hope your son has recovered fully and that it’s all just a memory now ?

As a mum, it is great to hear that you felt so reassured that your son was in safe hands and that you were listened to throughout your stay – everything we would expect to find in our hospitals. I will forward your review to the teams in both hospitals who cared for your son, I know this will mean a great deal to them.

Thank you for taking the time to share your review with us,

Annie
