I was hospitalised in Taunton three times in 2017.
1) I was in a stroke ward for six days. They were very good and very thorough, except they left me with no books or plan to get sensation in my hands and lip back. No leaflets or exercises were given.
2) Three weeks for allergies and arthritis. I received incredible health and care, except it was a bit noisy, with bins and people being sick and shouting. Three weeks in, it was soul destroying, one nurse at night would not give Oramorph when I had severe pain for two nights. On the third night, after I told, they gave it. The nurse said they were in pain, obviously they took it out on me. This was totally unacceptable, I could have been out of pain for two nights, but I wasn't strong enough, I couldn't fight for my rights.
3) Heart attack in coronary. I had a stint. Amazing, got here in thirty minutes by ambulance: quick, efficient. I did have five bed moves in three days at the coronary daycare (at night) fielding, a bit unsettling. Amazing work and happy atmosphere, very good. They kept me to make sure I wasn't allergic after desensitising me (Obviously grateful to be alive from three near deaths).
I've seen improvements since April; the bins were noisy at night but are now silent, and the wet towel bins are good. The food was always good
