"End of life Care"

About: Cumberland Infirmary / Older people's healthcare

When my Elderly aunt arrived as an Emergency admission to the hospital, I was very impressed with the speed, care and consideration given. A&E staff treated her with respect, care to make her comfortable and treat her fall.

As events unfolded it became clear that this was to be the beginning of 'end of life' care'. Over the coming weeks her time in the hospital was unfailingly supportive.. All staff involved gave excellent support, kept family members fully informed and were able to visit as a when able.

Thank you to staff in A&E, Larch and Beech Wards.

Please accept my condolences on your loss and sincere thanks for taking the time to send in your feedback. Staff work very hard every day to deliver compassionate and considerate care to patients and families and they will be delighted to get this feedback, I will pass it on to the Matrons to share with the teams concerned.

kind regards
