I was admitted to ward 309 recently for a hysterectomy and on admission felt anxious and stressed as was first on the list and was initially swamped with doctors and nurses.
However the whole team led by Dr Swathy soon put me at ease and were extremely professional and caring from admission to discharge. Everything was explained thoroughly by Dr Swathy and the anaesthetist Dr Kumar who were both very clear and precise taking time to explain the procedure.
Afterwards the nursing staff, in particular Morag and Gail (night nurse) were so kind and caring, patient and nothing was too much trouble. Everything they did was clearly explained and I only had to ring my buzzer once when one of my 3 overhanging infusions started beeping.
The food served was very good and my water jug filled regularly with iced water. My every last need was attended to and what was quite an anxious and frightening experience turned out so much better than I had dared hope for. Bless the NHS! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
